Turning The Page
The British Library offers a wonderful service called Turning the Pages, which provides free access to fully digitised versions of rare manuscripts. The latest edition is the original manuscript of Alice's Adventures Underground, later published as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Its pages can be actually turned and viewed online. The technology allows users to browse handwritten pages, and mimics the action of turning each page. Other titles include sketches by Leonardo da Vinci, the first atlas of Europe, a lavishly illustrated Hebrew prayer book, and the oldest printed book (circa 868 AD). This is a simply wonderful site - leaves other e-books for dead!
